The Postgraduate Training Program
The major goal of the Institute is to train young veterinarians in a combined residency/PhD program which comprises postgraduate education in
- anatomic veterinary pathology and
- biomedical research.
The training in anatomic pathology consists of a structured residency programme (see below) aimed at preparing residents for board certification by the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (Dipl. ECVP).
The PhD training of veterinary and biology students in biomedical research serves to obtain a “Doctor of Philosophy”(PhD) issued by the Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Berne.
A combined Residency/PhD program is offered with the goal of obtaining the skills and knowledge to pass the ECVP board examination and to fulfil all requirements for a PhD degree.
