Pathology is a central bridge between the clinic and basic research. It is our goal to support clinicians by understanding the underlying basis of disease at the molecular level. For this purpose, several clinically relevant research questions are tackled. Our areas of research include drug resistance of cancer, host-parasite interactions of intracellular parasites, the mode of action of bacterial toxins, alopecia, and stem cell research.
